What is Wellness? And why strive for it?


Medical literature is very clear in defining wellness as the ability of our bodies to adapt to stress. The human body is designed to adapt readily and appropriately to the internal and external stressors we constantly face.

As chiropractors, we work with the spine specifically, because the spine houses and protects an important part of your nervous system—the spinal cord. If your spine is healthy and your nervous system is functioning well, you are able to deal with stress better. And rather than just fixating on “stress reduction” alone, chiropractic helps people tolerate and adapt to the stressors we all face in daily life. We know that when we can ADAPT to those stresses, we’re more resilient, and we can stay healthier longer.
